Misha Begley
Drones, pulsing rhythms and tapes combine in an encompassing aural experience.
www.myspace.com/mishabegleymusic

The youngest performer to play at the Spirit of Gravity, Misha Begley has been creating experimental electronic music for the past year. His music is a mix of soft electronic hums and slow rhythmic pulses with music concrete´ sound collage elements that shift between encompassing drones and dense melodic pieces. Stylistically his music is reminiscent of The Hafler Trio, COIL, Brian Eno and Cyclobe.

July 31st marks his first live gig and he will be performing with a KORG Synthesiser, a variety of tape loops, possibly some vocals, a 12 track mixer and hopefully will be accompanied by James Bolton on guitar and effects. Misha will also be selling copies of his first two releases on the night.

Rekalix
Rekalix plays a laptop based set of interesting soundscapes, perfect for relaxing to.

Rekalix is Andrew Lintern, ambient electronica songwriter from Southampton. His music fuses faraway soundscapes with delicate sounds. It can be very minimalist ambience at times to allow those who listen to just appreciate the senses some sounds can create inside them. In 2006 Rekalix joined Kuurort Records, and his debut album, "Zykancialuu" was released by Kuurort in January 2007.

"What a beautiful, wonderful joy this is to listen to, full of enchanting, meandering soundscapes and lush, tranquil beauty." - from a recent album review by SouthScene.co.uk.

deepkiss720

Deepkiss720 has been an improviser for many years working with pure tones and junk sound, from guitars to a bag of shoes (!) with the most hi-brow and lo-brow performers as wide ranging as a classically trained opera singer to a care in the community fire breathing wizard. His picture disc LP on Harbinger Sound was designed (with punk in mind) to bankrupt the label but sold out quickly. Most recently he has been using home made electronic circuits and modified guitars for solo performances however this performance another of his "difficult" collaborations will feature MEAT DREAM a cyber duo who use homemade modified computer drums to express the idea of "DECAY".
