Yep
Wrong Music put on sporadic nights of noise, gabba, jungle, breakcore at the Volks Tavern. In 2004 they've had Duranduranduran, the Adaadat crea, the Addict crew, Donna Summer, dDamage, Charlottefield, Phil Collins Three and loads of local likeminded musicians like Ladyscraper, Shitmat, DJ100000000, Eaten by Children and Hot Roddy.

Club Quiet (where the forthcoming Urban Myth with Steve Beresford CD was recorded) appears to be on hold at present but if it starts up again (possibly in the Sussex Arts Centre?), it's definitely worth visiting.

Slightly Off Kilter also takes place at the Freebutt at least every second Tuesday, boasting more alternative music, with a few more guitars along the way.

Sabbath at the Ocean Rooms is another winner, playing host to many artists from labels like Planet Mu, Warp, Rephlex and Tigerbeat 6.

It's also worth keeping an eye on Melting Vinyl, cause they're not afraid to promote a spot of electronica or experimental music every now and again.
